Visual Paradigm Suite Update provides you an effortless way to keep the installed products up-to-date. Starting from this version, we introduce the automatic update notification feature, which helps remind you for product update from time to time.

There is also another enhancement for Visual Paradigm Suite, which makes the system able to read the standard Visual Paradigm license key file (.zvpl). You can import the key file by double-clicking to open it, without starting the tool and importing the key into the Key Manager.

Automatic Update Notification

Product Update refers to the process of updating the current installation of Visual Paradigm Suite to the newest one. It can be done via the Product Updater, which helps compare the existing files in your local installation directory with the most up-to-date files from the Internet server, downloading the updated files to replace your existing one.
From this version onwards, we provide a mechanism to notify you for an update when a certain time interval elapsed. On the seventh day after your first launch of any Visual Paradigm products, when you launch any product, the following message box will appear after the splash screen:
This is the dialog box that asks you for an update. If you want it to show again, keep the option Ask me again checked and select the time interval that you want the dialog to show again, like this:
If you do not want the dialog to appear again, uncheck Ask me again.
Finally, if you want to proceed with update, click Yes. If you want to start the tool without checking for update, click No. For the steps of update, please read:

Opening a .zvpl License Key File
A .zvpl file is a standard license key file recognizable by Visual Paradigm's products. In the previous versions, the key file can only be imported through the License Key Manager that appear when you start the product without a valid key. Here is a screenshot of the License Key Manager, which is familiar for most Visual Paradigm users.
From this version onwards, the key file can be read by the system, which means that, you can double-click on a .zvpl key file to import it into Visual Paradigm Suite. In order to make this work, you must have installed Visual Paradigm Suite or Business Process Visual ARCHITECT using installer, and have enabled the file association during installation, like this:
Once you have done this, you can double-click on a .zvpl license key file to open it directly. Here are the steps from opening a key to starting an application.
1. Double-click on the license key file.
This shows the License Key Viewer.
2. Click Yes to import the key into Visual Paradigm Suite.
Select the tool that you want to start with. By pressing on any entry in the product list, the product name, the supported version support, the expiry date and your licensee email address will be shown under the table.
Click on Start Application.
The selected application will start right away.
