New File and Directory Chooser

In the new version of VP Suite, a new user interface for choosing directories is added and file chooser is enhanced. The new Directory Chooser and Enhanced File Chooser also used to help you get directories and files quicker and easier.

Introduce new Directory Chooser

Select Directory from Directory Chooser

To select a directory from Directory Chooser, click on the name or icon of the target directory on the tree. The Folder and Path text box shows the selected folder and full path of the selected folder respectively. Click the OK button to confirm your selection.
	Select by Typing Directory Chooser also has capability select directory by typing. Focus to the directory tree, type the name that you want. And than the directory tree will select the most close directory by name. For the performance reason, directory tree only search directories from the selected directory to bottom and expanded directory. Multi-select Sometime, we use Directory Chooser to select more than one directory. For example, add class folders to Java Instance Reverse. To select more than one directory, you can press and hold <Ctrl> key and click on the second or more directories. For Mac, use the <Apple> key to replace <Ctrl> key. The Folder text box will show the list of selected directories. And the Path text box will so nothing. You can also press and hold the <Shift> key to select a block of directory for PC or Mac. This is also support <Shift> key add key up, key down to select block of directories. Same as single selection, click the OK button to confirm your selection.

Smart Directory Tree

This is quite disturbing that too many directories expanded. But it cannot be awarded when you are searching directory. But Smart Directory Tree of Directory Chooser can solve this problem.
	Single Select The directory ".vpworkspace2_2" expands. When you click on ".vpworkspace2_2rc", the directory expands and the directory ".vpworkspace2_2" collapses at the same time. This behavior affect the same level of the expanded directory. If you click on the handle to expand the directory, the Smart Directory Tree will not collapse other directory. Multi-select The directories will not expand when click on the name of the directory and more than one directoy is selected. If you want to expand that directory, click on the handler of the directory. Click on the handler of directory sun to expand it.

New, Delete and Rename Directories

You can also create directory, delete directory and rename directory with Directory Chooser.

How to trigger Directory Chooser?

Single Select Directory Chooser can help to select workspace directory. So you can find it in Workspace Launcher dialog. To show Workspace Launcher dialog, select menu File > Switch Workspace.... Click the button ... near ,Workspace combo box. Then you can see the Directory Chooser. Multi-select You can also trigger Directory Chooser in Instant Reverse dialog. To show Instant Reverse dialog, click the Instant Reverse button on Class Repository pane. The button Add Class Folder... and Add Source Folder... also invoke multi-select Directory Chooser.

Enhanced File Chooser

Enhanced File Chooser provide two views; Details View and List View.
Detail View - Show directories and files with details. The details includes Name, Size, Type and Modified date.
List View - Show all directories and files one by one.
	Completion Completion of file is used to sort out directories and files by typing name. In the following figure, there are many files and directories. And I want to open EclipseIntegration.vpp. I just type "ec" to the File name field. And then it sort out files and directories start from ?ec?. In this case, Eclipse Integration and EclipseIntegration.vpp are sorted out. EclipseIntegration.vpp will be selected after press down arrow key. Press <Enter> to confirm your selection. Arrange Icons The enhanced file chooser provides four kinds of arrangement to icons show on file chooser. They are arrange icon by name, size, type and modified. These arrangements assist you to find files or directory quicker. To arrange icons, right click the white area to show popup menu. The arrangements are under the menu Arrange Icons By. The arrangements support both List View and Details View of file chooser.
