Importing ERwin Data Modeler project to Visual Paradigm

AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler is a popular tool for data modeling. And now you can easily import ERwin diagrams and models into your Visual Paradigm project.

Exporting your ERwin project to XML

You can export your ERwin project to XML by the saving function in ERwin.
1.	After opened the ERwin project, select File > Save As... from main menu.
2.	Select XML Files (*.xml) in Save as type and type the file path in the file dialog box.
3.	Use the default setting Standard XML Format and Only save minimum amount of information.
4.	The XML file is saved.

Importing ERwin project to VP

After the ERwin project is exported as XML File, start VP-UML, SDE (e.g. SDE-EC) or DB-VA. ERwin Importer is supported in Standard Edition or above in VP-UML or SDE, and all editions of DB-VA.
1.	To launch ERwin Importer:
	Select File > Import > ERwin Project (XML)... from main menu.  VP-UML  SDE-EC
2.	From the ERwin Project Importer, specify the ERwin Project XML file path in the File field.

3.	Press OK to start importing.
4.	Wait until the process has been finished, then a dialog will be shown for asking open the imported ERD. Select the diagram(s) and press OK to open the diagrams.

5.	Finally, you can locate the ERD that are imported into the current VP-UML Project.
