SUMMARY
Visual Paradigm introduces Report Writer from VP-UML 4.0 and SDE 2.0 (Standard Edition or above) onwards, which streamlines report customization, synchronization between project model and reports in a truly what-you-see-is-what-you-get report builder. With the familiar Microsoft Word-style word processing environment, it's easy and intuitive to create report templates that suits specific requirements and conforms to company's documentation standard.
Agile Report Creation
Documenting a UML modeling project is a complicated task. UML CASE tools available in the market often provide very limited report customization capability, while the default report templates supplied are insufficient and unsatisfactory. In order to solve this problem, a third-party documentation tool such as Microsoft Word needs to be used. However, this raised another problem - reports created often out-of-sync with the modeling project, which would takes a lot of time and effort to keep them up-to-date.
Visual Paradigm understands what modelers need and provided the Report Writer for easy report customization. Its working environment is simple and intuitive, documentation editing and style formatting is as easy and rich as the word processing programs that you have used. Nonetheless, Report Writer is more than just a general-purpose documentation tool, it allows you to quickly create professional UML modeling reports with simple drag-and-drops.

Automatic Synchronization from Model
Report Writer also automates the synchronization of documentation from model, which would cost considerable efforts if performed manually. It detects the changes in the VP-UML project model automatically, and refreshes the report with the updated contents.
