Requirement Realization through Task

An Activity is a task that team members has to perform. For each Requirement, you can add Activities to it to specify the tasks required to fulfill the Requirement. Requirement and Sub-Activities are closely related to each other. This helps project manager checks the progress of work supporting a Requirement easily.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create Requirement as well as Sub-Activities. In order to complete this tutorial, you must have A3 Platform installed on your computer. The following project and users will be used throughout this tutorial.

  1. Project: Sample Project
  2. Users:
    1. Peter (Project Manager)
    2. John (Programmer)
    3. Mavis (Programmer)

If you already have a running installation of A3 Platform, you may use your own project and users for this tutorial. Otherwise, please read the tutorial Download and Installation of A3 Platform to learn how to install A3 Platform and set up users and projects needed.

Create Requirement

  1. Login as Peter.

  2. Open the Requirements page.

  3. Let's create a software Requirement. Click on New Requirement.

  4. Fill the name of Requirement: Support online registration

  5. Fill in the description: Allows users to register online instead of using telephone.

  6. Select 1.0 > I1 > Requirements for location.

  7. Click Save at bottom right.

Create Sub-Activities

  1. Under the Requirement, click on the Activities section.

  2. Click New.
    new act
  3. Fill in the Name and Details of Activity.

  4. Set the Assignee. Click on the drop down menu next to Assignee and select John from the drop down menu.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Create one more Sub-Activity. Click New again.
  7. Fill in the Name and Details of Activity.

  8. Select Mavis to be the Assignee.

  9. Click Save. Sub-Activities are listed:
