Organize business processes with model

This tutorial is aimed to introduce the use of model for organizing business process diagrams, which makes the project content easier to read and manage. By reading this tutorial, you will know how to create model, create diagram under model and add existing diagram to model.

  1. Create a new project.
  2. Open the Model Explorer.

  3. There are two default models for creation, As-is Process and To-be Process. Right click on the explorer pane and select Model > As-is Process from the popup menu to create an as-is process.

  4. Create another model without using the defaults. Right click on the explorer pane again and select Model > New Model... from the popup menu.

  5. In the Model specification, enter Data Model as name. Click OK to confirm.

  6. Create a business process diagram under the as-is process by right clicking on As-is Process, and selecting Diagram > Business Process Modeling > Business Process Diagram from the popup meun.

  7. Create another business process diagram. This time, click on the toolbar button button in toolbar. Diagram created in this approach will put at root (won't show in Model Explorer).
  8. Create several tasks in diagram.

  9. In Model Explorer, move the new diagram to under Data Model by right clicking on Data Model, and selecting Diagram > Add Existing Diagram... from the popup menu.

  10. In the Add Sub Diagrams dialog box, select Business Process Diagram2. Click OK.

    Diagram and the tasks are all moved to Data Model.
