Protecting your design in a team collaboration environment
Team collaboration development allows multiple team members working on the same project concurrently. Since all members are working on the same project, works done by one member may be modified by other members. Business Process Visual ARCHITECT (BP-VA) 4.0 supports locking the modification permission of a diagram. By locking the diagram, other members can only view it. They can modify it unless they have the password you used to lock the diagram. In this tutorial, you will learn how to lock your diagram to prevent it being modified in team working environment.
- Assume you have drawn the following business process diagram:

- To avoid it being modified by other team members, you can lock the diagram before committing. Right clicking on the diagram's background and select Diagram Content > Lock... from the pop-up menu.

- Enter your password in the pop-up Lock dialog box and then click OK button.

- Commit your work to the server.
- Assume your team member (blue window frame) has downloaded the project from the server. When s/he modifies any model elements of the diagram, an Authorization Required dialog box will ask him/her to provide password in order to proceed modification.

- You can unlock the diagram after you set the password. Right click on the diagram's background and select Diagram Content > Configure Lock... from the pop-up menu.

- In Configure Lock dialog box, choose Remove lock. Enter the password you set previously and click OK button to confirm.
