Move Shapes with Sweeper and Magnet

When you need to insert/ remove a diagram element between two diagram elements, you may find it annoying and time-consuming to move model elements one by one and keep the layout neatly. With sweeper and magnet, you can increase more space and narrow the space between the diagram elements respectively, furthermore, you can insert or remove diagram elements easily and maintain the layout.

  1. Download the attached project of this tutorial beforehand.
  2. Open the project with VP-UML.

Extending space with sweeper

  1. Select Sweeper from the diagram toolbar.

  2. Move the mouse over the diagram pane where you want to extend space.
  3. Hold onto your mouse and move the line horizontally or vertically to extend more space.

Narrowing space with magnet

  1. Select Magnet from the diagram toolbar.

  2. Move the mouse over the diagram pane where you want to narrow the space.
  3. Hold onto your mouse and move the line horizontally or vertically to narrow the space.
