Find Requirement by searching

When you want to find out a Requirement in A3 Platform, and if you have certain keyword(s) that you think the Requirement may contain, you better use the search function to help you.

The search function is a powerful way of finding Resources in current project or even across projects. By supplying the search text and configuring the search options, you can perform searching. Search results will appear in a breeze.

To search Requirement:

  1. You need to perform searching in the Search view. There are two ways you can take to enter the Search view:
    • Open the Search view by clicking on Search at the top bar.

    • In Requirements view, click on the Search button.

  2. Enter the keyword(s) to search.

    Here are some of the search pattern you may use to search:
    Example Description
    "Hello World"
    Contains exactly the words "Hello" and "World" in continued manner.
    'Hello World' Same as "Hello World".
    Hello World
    Contains the words "Hello" and "World". The words need not to be continued.
    Hello or World
    Contains the words "Hello" or "World".
    Special search patterns
  3. Select the type of Resource you want to search. If you want to search only Requirement, select Requirement. You can optionally select All to search all Resource types.

  4. If you know the location of Requirement, or want to limit the location to search, click on the button for the Location field and select the location from the popup Process view.

  5. Check or uncheck the type of text content to search.

  6. If there are multiple projects created in A3 Platform and if you want to search the keyword across projects, check Search all Projects.
  7. You may adjust the number of result entry to display per page. Initially 10 entries would be displayed.
  8. Click Search.
  9. Open the Requirement page. Any Requirement that matches your search criteria would be listed. You may click on its name to open it.
