Managing users (LDAP)

In addition to the build-in way of adding users, you can also make use of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration to authenticate with users defined in LDAP. Here are the steps:

  1. Setup LDAP by adding the following attributes to users:
    • isvptwuser
    • active
    • createuser
    • updateuser
    • deleteuser
    • createproject
    • updateproject
    • deleteproject
    Set the correct values to represent different level of rights for users. Specify also properties like users' names and their passwords.

  2. In the Teamwork Server server machine, open a web browser and visit: http://127.0.0.1:1999/admin
  3. Enter the username of administrator (default: Admin), the password and click Login.
  4. Click on Users for Teamwork Server.

  5. At the top right corner, select LDAP as Authentication Method.

  6. Specify the Host and Port for connecting to LDAP. Enter also the Bind DN or User, Bind Password and Users Parent Entry. Enter the property names correspond to the required options. Those properties should be those you've added in step one.

  7. Click Save. If success, the page will refresh itself to show the users information with their permissions.
