Compare revisions

When you want to know the changes made in your project within a period of time, you can compare the revisions in between and see the differences. You can compare for the entire project, or specific model element/view.

For entire project

  1. Open the Teamwork Client by selecting Teamwork > Open Teamwork Client... from the main menu.
  2. Select the project you want to compare on the left hand side of the Teamwork Client window.
  3. Open the Revisions tab where the revisions of the selected project are listed. If the list is not long enough to display the revision you want to compare, click no the drop down menu next to Show and select the number of revision to list.

  4. Select the beginning and the final revision to compare. Select the beginning revision first. Then, press the Ctrl button and select the final revision. Let's say you want to know the changes from revision 2 to revision 4, select 2 and 4. Note that you just need to select the beginning the final revision, not the revision(s) in between.

  5. Click on Compare... below the revision list.
  6. In the Compare Projects window you can realize the model elements or views they are changed between the revisions selected. The Diagram tab shows the changed views. Any difference you can see on a diagram is counted to be a difference. Select a node and click Compare on the right hand side of the window to visualize the difference. Note that you can press and drag on diagram to adjust the region to view.

  7. The Model Element tab tells you the changes of model elements in property level. E.g. a change of name. Click on a node and check the change on the right hand side.

  8. When finished checking, click Close to return to Teamwork Client. Click Close in Teamwork Client to return to diagram.

For model elements/views

If you want to know the changes of specific elements/views between revisions, try this:

  1. Open the diagram where the model element(s)/view(s) exist.
  2. Right click on the model element/view you want to check. Select Teamwork > Revision History... from the popup menu.

  3. In the Histories window, click on the drop down menu next to Revision and select the number of revision to list for comparison.

  4. Select the beginning and the final revision to compare, either in the Model Element or View table. Select the beginning revision first. Then, press the Ctrl button and select the final revision. Let's say you want to know the changes from revision 2 to revision 4, select 2 and 4. Note that you just need to select the beginning the final revision, not the revision(s) in between.

  5. Click Compare.
