Smart Development Environment 4.2 Released

Visual Paradigm International Limited announced today the release of Smart Development Environment 4.2 (SDE 4.2).

SDE 4.2 introduces a number of new features and enhancements, which include:

• Mind mapping diagrams
• Nicknamer for assigning different names and documentation to specific model elements
• Define and customize requirement types
• Display full set of requirements in tabular view
• Traceability support using Model Transitor
• Organize model elements and diagrams using Model Explorer
• Freehand shapes
• Callout shapes
• Team collaboration with Perforce
• Drag-and-drop copying, moving and reordering of classes and entity members
• Open view from model elements

Enhancements to SDE 4.2 include:

• Revamped Report Writer
• Smart routing for flow of business process diagrams
• Automatically stretch pools and lanes to fit business process diagrams
• Reverse engineer database definition language (DDL) models to entity relationship diagram (ERD) models

Pricing and Availability

SDE 4.2 is now available through the Visual Paradigm online shop (visual-paradigm.com/shop/) and Visual Paradigm resellers (visual-paradigm.com/shop/authorizedresellers.jsp). SDE is available under both single-seat (developer-based) and floating licenses. Single-seat license are available from US $99 for Modeler Edition to US $1399 for Enterprise Edition. Alternatively, these licenses can be purchased with a one-year software maintenance contract for prices starting from US $118.5 up to US $1678.5. A floating license is available from US $128.5 to US $1818.5, or US $154.0 to US $2182.0 with 1 year maintenance contract. Both minor and major version upgrades are covered by the maintenance contract.
