Visual Studio^® is a popular Integrated Development Environment for the .NET programming languages, it allows you to edit, compile, deploy and test .NET programs efficiently. Got legacy projects in Rational Rose and other CASE tools? Just migrate them to SDE for Visual Studio^®. You can import the UML model and diagrams of a Rational Rose project (mdl) file to SDE, instead of creating them again from scratch. You can also export an XMI file from other CASE tools or applications and import it into SDE.

 

Besides, a SDE project can be exported as an XMI file, which can be used in other CASE tools including Rational Rose.
