We currently provide two academic partner types for selection, namely the Basic Academic Partner and the Professional Academic Partner.

| Basic Academic Partners |
|
The Basic Academic Partner can join free-of-charge. Schools that join this partners program will be offered one or more of the Standard Edition versions of Visual Paradigm products (Visual Paradigm for UML and/or SDE) for teaching purposes within one academic year. The products can then be installed on as many computers as needed. During the partnership period, the school will be given all the released updates (major and minor) and hot fixes for the software.

| Professional Academic Partners |
|
Schools that join this partners program can choose one or more of the Enterprise, Professional or Standard Edition versions of Visual Paradigm products (Visual Paradigm for UML, Smart Development Environment and/or DB Visual ARCHITECT) for teaching purposes within one academic year. Standard Edition products can be applied free-of-charge, while Enterprise and Professional Edition charges only the software maintenance cost (20% of the current list price).

The applying department must purchase at least 5 copies of Enterprise or Professional Edition products. Purchasing 40 copies you will get the department-wide site license (products can be installed on as many computers as needed), otherwise you will be given a floating license. During the partnership period, the school will be given all the released updates (major and minor) and hot fixes for the software.
