Organize enterprise design with Zachman Framework
Zachman Framework provides structured and disciplined way of viewing an enterprise. It has a matrix representation, with six rows (scope contexts, business concepts, system logic, technology physics, component assemblies, operations classes) and six columns (what, how, where, who, when, why). In this tutorial, you will see how to create a Zachman Framework.
- Start Agilian.
- Download the project file Laundry.vpp attached with this tutorial. Open it. You can open project by selecting File > Open Project... from the main menu.
- Let's create a Zachman Framework. Click on Enterprise in toolbar. Select Zachman Framework from the popup menu.

- There are 36 cells in Zachman Framework. Select the one that intersect How (column) and Business Concepts (row).

- Let's add a diagram. Click on the Diagrams link.

- Click Add... in Diagrams tab.

- In the Select Diagram dialog box, select the BPD Laundry Service. Click OK. To return.

- Click OK in Process Definition dialog box to return to Zachman Framework.
- Select the cell that intersects What (column) and Scope Contexts (row). You can see that the symbol in the edited cell is filled.

- Click on the Terms link.

- In the Inventory Identification dialog box, click Edit at the bottom left corner.
- Click on the Create Term button.

- Enter clothes as term name. Press Enter to confirm editing.

- Right click on the term and select Open Specification from the popup menu.

- Open the General page. Enter the documentation of term: What client brings to the laundry for washing. Click OK to confirm editing. Click OK to close the Inventory Identification dialog box.

- Select any other cell. You can see that the symbol of the edited cell is again filled.
