What are the differences between SDE-NB and VP-UML NetBeans Integration? |

SDE-NB is embedded inside the NetBeans which has the same look & feel also share the same VM. It only takes one process when both NetBeans and SDE are launched.
VP-UML NetBeans Integration is works in parallel with the NetBeans. The VP-UML and NetBeans are work in different process (different VM). The two applications communicate with each other to perform the code/model synchronization. The VP-UML will have similar look & feel to the NetBeans when performing the integration.

What are the differences between editions of SDE-NB? |

SDE-NB provides different editions aimed from personal learning to enterprise production usage. The major differences are the supported functionalities and the license terms. Except the Community Edition and Personal Edition, all editions can be used in production environment. Furthermore, the Community Edition only allows a maximum of one diagram for each type of UML diagram per project, and all the diagrams and documentations generated from both the Community Edition and the Personal Edition will show a small Visual Paradigm logo at the top left corner.

In order to import Visio stencils into SDE-NB, the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and Microsoft Office Visio 2003 must be installed. It is important that you must install .NET Framework before installing Visio. Besides, the "Visio Send to VP" Plug-in must be installed. The plug-in can be found in the "bundled" directory under the VP Suite installation directory. |

My Report Writer becomes grayed and inactive after creating a new report. Why this happen? |

We found that there are some problems for the Report Writer if the user's name contains space character. To solve this problem, please run Report Writer under a user account containing no spaces for its name. |

SDE-NB can connect to the Teamwork Server to perform teamwork operations (Modeler Edition or above). The build in Teamwork Client helps you to check-in/check-out the projects to and from the server also resolve the conflicts when needed. |

Code generation/reverse engineering is a very natural action. It can be done through the Auto Synchronization or update manually. There is another handy way for doing the reverse engineering which is called Instant Reverse. Instant Reverse is a one-off reverse engineering options that can reverse various kinds of source/binaries into UML model. |

No. Installing both SDE-NB and DBVA-NB on the same NetBeans will cause conflict and both of them will not work. Installing the Enterprise Edition of SDE-NB also covers the data modeling and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) features of DBVA-NB. |

"Non-commercial use" means user cannot use the software for making money (i.e. a commercial organization cannot use the community edition or personal edition on any production usage). If user need to use the product on commercial usage, please select the modeler edition or above. |

How can I remove the pattern watermark when using the community edition? |
| A. |
The pattern watermark shows because you have created more than one diagram of at least one diagram type. If there are more than one diagrams of any type, it will switch to evaluation mode. Diagram printed will contain pattern watermarks. To avoid the problem happening again, please create not more than one diagram of any type in Community Edition. |
