Unlike other UML CASE tools, now you can create and edit your UML diagrams with a simple flick of the wrist, rather than navigate through complicated point-and-click toolbars and menus. The mouse gesture provides a more natural behavior in creating diagrams than sliding the mouse around to look for the buttons or toolbars.

With mouse gesture, you can execute commands in the UML diagrams without using keyboard, menus or toolbars. You just need to hold down a mouse button and moves the mouse in a certain ways to form a gesture, then release the mouse button.

You can create new models, generate and layout diagrams, also execute some other functions in VP-UML by using mouse gestures. A full list of supported gestures can be found at Supported Gestures section.

Sample Gestures (click to see interactive demos)

Create Models
Create UML models simply drawing the bounds of the shape.

Generate Diagrams
Generate Sequence Diagram to Collaboration without using the popup menu.

Layout Diagram
Perform auto-layout by drawing “L” in the diagram
